Fabrizio Romano has reported that the loan fee for Romelu Lukaku that was paid Chelsea for this season was 7.8 million euros and while a deal for a second season has been discussed, nothing has been agreed as yet.
Depsite that, Romano confirms that the ‘intent is clear’ from both clubs to reach an agreement and this is something that usually gets completed if it is in the wishes of both clubs.

It remains to be seen whether Potter wants to see Lukaku in the flesh back at Cobham or whether he’s happy enough to know that Lukaku’s style doesn’t fit into the system he sees at Chelsea. The other option is that Potter doesn’t even have a say in the deal as Boehly may just want the front man off the books because he doesn’t fit the type of signing Chelsea are looking at these days, his salary is already too high or a combination of both.
We’ll keep our eye on this one.
