Loic Remy Transfer News – Linked with Swansea Move
Despite winning the League title with Chelsea last season, it seems Loic Remy may be looking to leave the Blues to play more regular football after the summer break.
With 7 goals from 21 appearances (starting just 6 games), Remy has impressed whenever he’s been on the pitch and was influential in the title coming back to South West London.
We’re big Loic Remy fans here at Chelsea FC Blog and have been impressed with his form when he’s played. He always looks a threat and we thoroughly enjoyed his rocket of a strike here in Sydney last week in the 1-0 win against Sydney FC.
Loic Remy has now been strongly linked with Swansea City, a move that would only make sense if regular football is what he craves and aims to help push the club on to the next level, improving on their best ever points tally in the Premier League which they recorded this season – 56. Losing Wilfried Bony to Manchester City, they’re still on the hunt for support for Bafetimbi Gomis and Loic Remy could be the missing piece to the puzzle.

Our verdict
Personally I’d love Remy to stay and be given more game time, but with teams like Swansea, and supposedly Southampton (with the addition of Europa League football) sniffing around, he may want to force a transfer away from Chelsea – something I’d never stand against, especially in his prime at 28.
Most suited to playing through the middle, it’s easy to see why appearances were few and far between this season – playing on the left or right of the main striker are highly competitive areas at Chelsea and Jose has a vast array of attacking options at disposal. Remy also seems to continually struggle with his contribution defensively, something we know Jose always demands of his players.
