Stories in both a tabloid and a broadsheet today claim that Roman Abramovich has finally persuaded AC Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko to sign for Chelsea this summer, in a deal reported to be worth £25m. Hernan Crespo is said to be happy to go in the other direction and rejoin the club where he spent the 2004/05 season on loan. Unsurprisingly, Shevchenko has dismissed the reports.
