Kezman agrees move to Madrid

Mateja Kezman has agreed to join Atletico Madrid on a 3-year contract. He will undergo a medical on Wednesday before finalising personal terms.

The Primera Liga club’s president Enrique Cerezo confirmed on Tuesday via the club’s website that the deal is all but done.

“There is total agreement between Atletico, the player and Chelsea,” he said.

“Some matters do still need to be resolved between the player and Chelsea for the deal to be done. The contract with Kezman will be for three years.”

A part of me is sad to see him leave. He wasn’t really given the opportunity in England to add to his impressive record of 105 goals in 122 games for Holland’s PSV Eindhoven (that stat will forever be burned on my brain; what could’ve been).

What’s the betting he scores 25 goals in La Liga next season?

Good luck for the future, Mateja.

Two strikers down, not many left.
