Jose’s Assistant Replaces Eto’o as Manager

Jose Morais, who was Mourinho’s assistant manager while at Chelsea, has taken the manager’s role at Turkish side Antalyaspor.

The interim player-manager at the club was none other than former Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o.

Eto’o will return to being a mere mortal player at Antalyaspor and work under new manager Morais.

It’s quite a funny turn of events involving two men that were heavily involved in Chelsea’s recent history.

It’s also a potential turning point for Mourinho himself as his assistant has obviously decided it’s time to try his hand in management and will leave Jose looking for someone to replace Morais (just as soon as he’s taken a new job of course).

Morais himself was linked with the vacant Swansea role but that opportunity clearly seems to have been passed on (by either party) and Morais has opted to restart his managerial career in Turkey.

Morais has previously managed numerous clubs as well as the Yemen national side.
