William Gallas has revealed to the News of the World that he’s unsure whether he’ll be at Chelsea next season.
The French international told the Sunday tabloid that he wants a new challenge and dreams of ending his career at AC Milan.
He said: “I have to admit I don’t know if I’ll be at Chelsea next season.
“I have six months left to take my decision but I’m 28 years old, and maybe it’s time for me to look elsewhere.
“Maybe I need a new challenge. I’ve been at Chelsea since 1999 and of course I’ve enjoyed it.
“But I’ve got five or six more years before the end of my career and the choice I have to make is a huge one.
“There are some massive clubs out there who might prove tempting to me.
“I remember when a France team-mate told me once: ‘When you wear the AC Milan shirt, it shows you have succeeded.’ That makes you think.”
Jose laughs off Gallas talk · Update
Jose Mourinho has refused to countenance speculation regarding the future of William Gallas.
“The papers said it, not Gallas. Not him. He keeps saying to me he has done not one single interview, not one single word,” said the Portuguese.
“I didn’t see it on TV or hear it on the radio. I just read it in some papers and I trust Gallas more than the papers – for me no words were said.
“If someone wants to bet with me on Gallas’s future I’m ready.
“If you want to bet with me I can bet with you – will he be here next week or not?
“I’ve never been to a bookmaker’s but if you want a bet – my salary against your salary! He will be here next year.”
