Everton’s Huge Bid for Chelsea Target

Everton have reportedly approached Lokomotiv Moscow for their Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse.

Niasse has been linked to Chelsea on a number of occasions this transfer window.

(We even featured his best goals – YouTube highlights – in an article earlier in the month)

Niasse has scored 7 in 11 this season in Russia and has moved around quite a bit in recent times.

But that’s not as bad a thing as you’re thinking. He’s moved quickly because he’s performed so well.

His rise has been something like meteoric and he’s been able to succeed at each new level he’s stepped up to.

We said that Niasse would cost Chelsea around £15 million. Well Everton have tabled £13.5 million so we’ll see how far that gets them.

They’ve lost Naismith to Norwich this window and are clearly keen to organise a replacement before the window slams shut.

Quite why clubs leave it until the very last minute on deadline day will continue to baffle me but that’s the way business is done.

So we’ll see whether Chelsea actually step in, and are in fact interested in Niasse, or whether Everton will swoop in and take Niasse without competition.
