Brazilian Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa has possibly announced Chelsea’s signing of Alexandre Pato on Instagram before either Chelsea or his current club Corinthians.
Notably for Chelsea fans, in the comment he says: “Congrats @chelseafc”
According to the paper, Pato will initially join on a 6-month loan (which I personally think is a sensible move) in which time he will aim to impress the hierarchy at Chelsea that he’s worthy of a permanent deal.
I dare say his salary will be handsome enough for his short spell in West London. A contract I’m sure he will want to extend.
Also mentioned is the fact that he hasn’t played a competitive game since November so there will certainly be some fitness work for the striker before we see him start a game.
Expect him from the bench for a while yet.
Either way, it looks like Chelsea will be getting more firepower sooner rather than later.
