Boehly races to sign rising star before World Cup

Nkunku

Accoring to German newspaper BILD, Chelsea and Todd Boehly are expediting their efforts to sign Christopher Nkunku before the World Cup in Qatar begins in just under a month.

Originally the deal was expected to be completed in January and while that is the earliest that he could begin playing for Chelsea, Boehly wants the deal wrapped up and signed before a ball is kicked in Qatar.

Given his form this season for RB Leipzig, it seems certain that he will make an impact for France at this year’s ‘winter’ World Cup which would see his price sky rocket. Boehly wants to make sure he doesn’t miss his chance, or end up paying double in just two months time.

The PSG academy graduate has been in hot form so far this season for RB Leipzig and while he has caught the eye of many clubs around Europe it seems like Chelsea are front runners to land the forward.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano simply said “Chelsea are on it” when asked about a deal for Nkunku.
