Jonathan Calleri. A new name for us all to get excited about or another newspaper filler?
Maybe a bit of both.
French paper L’Equipe (definitely a decent source then) report that we are on the verge of agreeing a 6 million transfer for the Argentinian forward who scored 21 goals and made 11 assists in all competitions for Boca this season.
They also report that Chelsea would loan the 22 year old back to Boca for at least the remainder of the season.
So nothing to get too excited about just yet.
WAGNH suggests this price tag would be enough to avoid any potential work permit issues which is always the other concern when bringing over South American talent.
We’ll keep an eye on this. We need goals, it remains to be seen whether he would be given the chance to score them should we sign him in the transfer window.
