Jose Back, Chelsea Win, Costa Scores

Kurt Zouma Chelsea

Ah, normality is restored. Surely. Hopefully.

A 1-0 win at home. Ivanovic and Terry looked good, Costa scored. Is this the Chelsea of old? It’s certainly an improvement on recent weeks.

With an international break to put all that negativity aside, the Blues returned knowing full well that their gaffer’s job was well and truly on the line.

And finally we saw something from Fabregas, from Matic, from Hazard.

The passion was back and although this was by no means a classic performance, the players played for the shirt and ground out a result. Sounds like stuff of champions material.

Unfortunately it already seems a little bit late to be thinking of defending the title, but the opportunities for the players to turn the season around remain in abundance.

New names have an opportunity to prove themselves in a team that Jose would never have dared tamper with only a few months ago.

Enter Kenedy, again energetic and lively, Zouma looked dominant and a formidable force.

Kenedy Chelsea

Every single player has something to prove and if the young stars show they are capable then I’m fully behind keeping them in the side.

We travel away to Israel midweek making the trip to an in-form Spurs on Sunday even more difficult. But these are the best players in the country, some of the best in Europe and meeting the physical and mental demands of long midweek travel is something they are used to.

We need to be looking for 2 wins from this week and things will start to look a little better.
