Brazil overcame Venezuela last night with a 3-1 win as South America played their second round of games in qualifying for World Cup 2018 in Russia.
(Yes their qualification runs from October 2015 to October 2017!)
The win was Brazil’s frist 3 points of the campaign after defeat away to Chile in the opening match.
And Chelsea’s form player, Willian grabbed the first two goals to put Brazil almost out of sight before Venezuela pulled a goal back from a corner. Ricardo Oliveira of Santos ensured the points would be secure with a third goal for Brazil.
His first came within a minute of the game starting, powering a shot through he keeper’s hands.
His second came from the result of a stunning solo run from Filipe Luis (remember him?) whose low cross was dummied by Oscar allowing Willian time to control and bury his shot past the goalkeeper.
Lets hope his form continues into the weekend’s game against Aston Villa.
