Kurt Zouma has been hard at work.
As tough as it is to cement a first team place at Chelsea as a youth team player, he’s the player that’s made the step up better than any other in the past 12 months.
Now Zouma claims he’s desperate to make it to the European Championships with France in 2016.
An even bigger draw is that the tournament will be hosted by France.
Like many a Chelsea player this season, his form and his place in the team has been inconsistent. Often he’s been played out of position, looking particularly awkward at right back.
It should be noted that not once has Zouma complained about the roles or instructions given to him.
On his quest for a Euro 2016 spot, Zouma has been quoted as saying:
“I’m very happy and feel I have improved a lot. In 2015 I had a lot of chances to play, played in some big games and won two titles, so I am happy with the year on a personal level.
It’s a big year for me personally, there are the Euros in France and of course I want to be there in the squad so I have to keep working hard with Chelsea, improving myself in training and playing games.
“The tournament is at home in France, we want to win and be a very strong team, just like we do with Chelsea. There are many more matches to win in 2016 and the new year has started well. Let’s keep it up.”
