It doesn’t really need to be said but Ivanovic has been one of our most consistent performers of recent years.
His work ethic, his industrious style and sheer quality has endeared him to the Chelsea faithful.
However, this season we’ve seen an Ivanovic that is practically unrecognisable. No one is quite sure why or how but his performances have certainly taken a dip at a costly expense to Chelsea.
Now aged 31, his contract is up this summer. He’s playing for a new contract, surely – and he doesn’t seem to be going the right way about it!
In January he’ll be free to talk to other clubs so you would think any new deal, if forthcoming would likely be signed before the new year.
