Many still think he could do a job at Chelsea, an opinion that is likely magnified in times like these, but Frank Lampard has his new chapter well and truly underway with New York City after scoring his first goal in the MLS in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC.
Having taken his time to settle and an injury or two out of way, Lampard has set about making New York his home and his first goal for the club will certainly go some way to keeping the fans on side.
The goal itself was a scuffed effort after a trademark through ball from Pirlo, the ball was hooked back to Lampard who was hovering on the edge of the box and had all the time he needed to find the bottom corner. Watch Lampard’s first goal for yourself below.
