Didier Drogba made his first start for Montreal Impact at the weekend. He scored a hat-trick. Conversely Chelsea seem void of options in attack very early on in the season.

With that in mind, it’s time to canvas opinion once again with a poll to see whether Chelsea fans believe he was released a little too soon.
Not that it would ever be option to get Drogba back, but given his blistering start for Montreal Impact and very much the opposite from Chelsea this season there certainly seems to be an argument to suggest he could have been persuaded to stay and bolster The Blues goal threat.
Upon returning to Stamford Bridge from his time in China and Turkey, many expected Drogba to play a bit part role yet was thrust into the action maing a total of 28 appearances (particularly towards the back end of the season) as Diego Costa picked up numerous injuries and reasons not to play.
And for me, Drogba provided a genuine attacking threat with Premier League defenders finding his style typically difficult to deal with.
Chelsea now have two strikers that are notoriously difficult to get fit – Falcao and Costa – which may lead to our undoing in the race for the league title where strength in depth is most definitely a must have.
