2- Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba is one of the most well-known strikers in the Premier League. He came to Chelsea in July 2004 from Marseille in a club-record  £24 million fee. He was part of the new Roman Abramovich revolution and helped Chelsea win the league title in his very first season. 

However, Drogba’s most important contribution came in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich. In that match, he scored an 88th-minute equalizer and later struck the winning penalty in the shoot-out. That year, he also played a vital role in Chelsea’s FA Cup final victory against Liverpool. 

He made 381 appearances for Chelsea and scored an incredible 164 goals, and thus become the fourth-highest all-time goal scorer in the history of the club. He has also the distinction of being the first African player to score 100 Premier League goals.

3- Frank Lampard

After just one year of management experience, Frank Lampard landed the big job at Chelsea. He is rated that highly by his former club where he broke many great records and won many prestigious trophies. 

Despite playing as a midfielder, he scored 211 goals in all competitions and so became Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer. During his playing time at the club, he won 3 Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, 4 FA Cups and a Europa League title. 

 He played a pivotal role in the 2012 Champions League semi-final against Barcelona. The Catalans were the heavy favorites but the brilliance of Lampard helped Chelsea to get ahead on away goals. Lampard was the captain in the Champions League final match against Bayern Munich.
