Chelsea is likely to be linked with numerous players throughout the entire season. The club is now an established force in the transfer market, particularly when obtaining emerging prospects in world football. This strategy seems here to stay, especially when factoring in the success of young acquisitions like Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto, and Roméo Lavia.

In January or the summer, when Enzo Maresca’s side undoubtedly hopes to evolve further, Clearlake Capital could make some big moves for bright sparks once again. Chelsea’s scouting department is certainly assessing some notable prospects as we speak, with the South West London club’s ability to bed some of the youngsters above into the most significant league undoubtedly appealing to players and their agents.

With rumors gathering momentum and some rising talents hogging the headlines in leagues around the world, below is a brief look at a selection of young players Chelsea could look to snap up shortly.

Piero Hincapie is shining for Bayer Leverkusen

If Chelsea’s hierarchy wants to add more defensive solidity to the team, Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie could be at the top of their list. The club reportedly followed the Ecuadorian central defender, with his performances in the Bundesliga undoubtedly catching the eye. From his aerial ability to his calmness on the ball, Piero Hincapie has the tools needed to shine in English football.

John Duran is potentially still on Chelsea’s radar.

A player Chelsea reportedly wanted to sign in the summer, Jhon Duran’s impressive cameos off the bench will have surely piqued the interest of Chelsea’s hierarchy. The Aston Villa striker is only 20 years old; he has a massive frame and could be the perfect introduction to Chelsea’s forward line. While a move in January is probably unlikely, given Villa’s Champions League hopes, Jhon Duran could finally become a Chelsea player in the summer.

Nimfasha Berchimas has already trained with Bayern.

Although most sports fans in America watch basketball and bet on American football after assessing the latest NFL MVP odds, people interested in soccer will be fully aware of Charlotte FC’s Nimfasha Berchimas. Having already trained with giants Bayern Munich, the winger prodigy could be a player Chelsea consider in the coming months. Aged just 16 at the time of writing, Berchimas has clear potential and will undoubtedly be tempted by a move to the most significant league.

Santiago Gimenez is Feyenoord’s main goal-getter

One of the more senior inclusions, Santiago Gimenez, is still only 23 and has plenty of room to grow. The Mexican is Feyenoord’s main goal-getter and would command a far cheaper fee than some of Chelsea’s previous forward targets did, such as Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney. With Chelsea still requiring another striker to challenge Nicolas Jackson, Santiago Gimenez makes a lot of sense.

Evan Ferguson is still being mentioned.

Despite stagnating due to injury and a recent loss of form, Evan Ferguson is still one of the most exciting forwards in English football. The Irishman has undoubted qualities and would bring something different to Chelsea’s forward line. A player the Blues were reportedly considering signing last January, Ferguson could still be a strong option for the club. Brighton would probably be reluctant to sell him, though.

Other young players Chelsea could potentially target in January or in the summer include Ian Subiabre (River Plate), Moisés Paniagua (Always Ready), Franco Mastantuono (River Plate), Kenneth Adejenughure (FC Liefering), Gabriel Carvalho (Internacional), Matai Akinmboni (DC United), and Riquelme Felipe (Fluminense).
