Potter, who signed Levi Colwill on loan while at Brighton, has given an update on the young centre back.
Colwill will be back at Chelsea next year but the original hopes were that he would get Premier League football at Brighton… at least that was Potter’s plan.
Now Colwill’s performances will depend on whether De Zerbi, the new Brighton manager, picks him in the team.
Colwill is tipped for a bright future and exposure to Premier League football would certainly speed that up. For now it looks like he might have to bide his time.
Potter said: “Levi Colwill and Billy Gilmour are both good young players with a bright future, at a good club, and with good people who look after them and we will see how they go”
“Clearly, timing of me leaving wasn’t great for them. But that’s part of life”
