Christoper Nkunku has been forced to withdraw from France’s World Cup squad through injury.
Chelsea are believed to have a deal almost over the line with his club RB Leipzig – with personal terms agreed, only a final amount needs to be settled between the clubs.
The injury will obviously be heartbreak for the player who was expected to shine at this year’s tournament.
He picked up inury in a routine training session with the France national team and it has already been confirmed that he will miss the whole tournament.
The only positive for Chelsea is that the injury may give them the space and time to conclude the deal with Nkunku out of the spotlight while the tournament is taking place.
We wish Christopher all best in his recovery.
