Michael Owen is not for sale and Chelsea haven’t tried to sign him, according to the Currant Bun.
They report that Real Madrid issued a “hands off”? warning after the Spanish Press claimed the Blues had made a £14million bid for the England striker.
Madrid’s director of football Arrigo Sacchi said: “Owen is not for sale because he is part of Vanderlei Luxemburgo’s plans.
“Chelsea have not been in contact with us to make an offer.
“Some of the things written about who is coming and going here are like science fiction.
“Owen has not told us he is unhappy or that he wants to leave. He is a professional.”?
Sounds very much like the usual transfer shenanigans: an attempt to extract top dollar from Chelsea.
Anyone remember what Real Madrid said when asked whether they were interested in signing David Beckham?
It was a resounding “No, no, no…”
Personally, I don’t believe a single word that originates from the Bernabeu hierarchy.
