Duff out for three weeks

It has been confirmed that Damien Duff requires minor knee surgery after sustaining an injury whilst on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Pat Devlin, Duff’s agent, told today’s Evening Standard: “He does need some type of surgery.

“I don’t think it will be anything too major, but as far as I’m aware, he will be out for two to three weeks.”

That means he’s likely to miss the Premiership games against Bolton, Everton and Blackburn, as well as the Champions League clash with Real Betis and Carling Cup tie against Charlton.
