After joining the The Blues in the summer transfer window for a transfer fee of £14 million, Ghanaian left-back Baba Rahman has admitted that he is frustrated over lack of first team opportunities in the last 5 months.
Having made just 4 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League – 1 of which came from the bench, Rahman has struggled to earn praise from the Stamford Bridge faithful.
His physicality was called into question by Jose after Chelsea lost 1-0 away at Bournemouth at the start of December.
Since then, the former Augsburg left back hasn’t started a single game for Chelsea in the last month. The Blues have played 7 matches since then but Rahman was merely a spectator in all of these.
Thus, is it safe to assume that new Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink isn’t a big fan of the left-back?
“Of course it’s frustrating for any footballer to sit in the stands. It’s not something I’ve experienced a lot of,” Baba Rahman told German magazine Bild.
Unsurprisingly for a player who came to Chelsea to make an impact, Baba Rahman is growing visibly frustrated.
However, the return of Branislav Ivanovic from injury and John Terry to form means that the Ghanaian might not get first team action even in the coming game-weeks.
“For me the first half of the season was pretty OK but in the second half I really want to play more. Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world.” Said the Ghanaian.
