Chelsea won three of the four European Club Footballer of the Year awards, which were announced during the draw. Petr Cech was voted the best goalkeeper, John Terry the best defender, and Frank Lampard the best midfielder. Cristiano Ronaldo won the best forward award, as well as the overall Player of the Year award.
In other news, Shaun Wright-Phillips has returned to his former club after Chelsea and Manchester City agreed terms earlier today.
He has signed a four-year contract at the City of Manchester Stadium having rejoined for an undisclosed fee.
Wright-Phillips joined Chelsea in 2005 for £21m. He made 65 starts and 59 appearances as a substitute, scoring ten goals.
I’m sure we all wish him the best in his future career.
