I was very sad to leave. I didn't really want to leave. I love London, and I'd only just got married and we were very, very happy. And although we'd just gone down, we felt that we could get back up. Looking back, I'm pleased I didn't ask for a move, because I go back now and there's a pleasant reception. When I meet fans they ask me if I wanted to go, which is natural, typical Chelsea support, but Danny [Blanchflower] made it clear he didn't want me around, and he got loads of money at the time: £825,000 was a few bob.
