Like Mickey [Thomas] and myself Pat [Nevin] was very brainy! I got on great with him. I think he liked me and Mickey, he liked our silliness. He used to wear these clothes and I thought they were just weird, but then a few months later you'd realise he was the height of fashion and we weren't. What a player though. It was like the ball was stuck to his feet. He was very intellectual. He would warm up with his earphones on, listening to music. To me he was like a breath of fresh air.
